'Shivling exists beneath': Ganga water offering planned at Deoband's Darul Uloom

The Hindu Raksha Dal announced plans to visit Darul Uloom Deoband in Deoband, Uttar Pradesh, on Tuesday to offer Ganga water at the seminary, claiming that a Shivling exists beneath its premises, according to news agency PTI. Lalit Sharma, the Uttarakhand state president of the Hindu Raksha Dal, made the announcement in a video message released on Saturday. Sharma led a team from Haridwar, including national president Pinky Chaudhary, who would carry Ganga water during their visit.

The Hindu Raksha Dal had previously filed a complaint with the Saharanpur administration seeking an inquiry into their allegation of a Shiv temple existing on the Darul Uloom Deoband premises. However, they were reportedly dissatisfied with the lack of action taken on their complaint, leading to the decision to visit the seminary and offer Ganga water, Sharma explained.

In response to the organization's plans, Deoband Circle Officer Amit Kumar Singh warned the police would take stringent action to maintain law and order, as per PTI. He stated that no attempt to disrupt the atmosphere would be allowed, and those attempting to do so would face legal consequences.
