Russia stocks lower at close of trade; MOEX Russia Index unchanged

Russia stocks experienced a decline in trading on Sunday, with the MOEX Russia Index remaining unchanged at 0.00%. The Federal Hydro Generating Company RusHydro PJSC led the session with a 3.18% increase, closing at 0.35, while United Company Rusal IPJSC gained 2.97%, ending at 27.34, and AFK Sistema PJSC rose 2.94%, finishing at 9.16.

Conversely, T Tekhnologii MKPAO suffered the largest loss, dropping 0.68% to 279.18. Moscow Stock Exchange shares outnumbered the declining ones by a ratio of 220 to 22, with 7 remaining unchanged. Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank PAO saw a significant rise, hitting a 52-week high of 10.08, up by 0.43%. The Russian Volatility Index (RVI) remained stable at 38.56, while gold futures for December delivery surged 2.37%, reaching $4,401.30 per troy ounce.

In other commodity markets, September crude oil prices fell by 0.27% to $77.08 per barrel, and the October Brent oil contract declined by 0.34% to $82.21 per barrel. The USD/RUB exchange rate decreased by 1.31% to 81.91, and the EUR/RUB rate slipped by 1.01% to 94.68. The US Dollar Index Futures also experienced a dip of 0.33%, settling at 99.48.
