Report: Spurs attacker set for Championship move

West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement in principle to sign Tottenham attacker Manor Solomon. The deal reportedly involves a £5 million upfront fee with an additional £2 million in potential add-ons, while Tottenham retains a 10% sell-on clause. The previous discussions had stalled due to disagreements over the structure of the add-ons, particularly over West Ham's reluctance to meet bonus demands linked to an immediate return to the Premier League. However, these obstacles have now appeared to be resolved.

Solomon, 27, has made only six competitive appearances for Tottenham since joining on a free transfer in 2023. His last appearance was as a substitute against Liverpool in September 2023 before a meniscus injury in his right knee ended his campaign early. Prior to Tottenham, he had a productive loan spell at Leeds United, where he scored 10 Championship goals, contributing to the team's promotion as title winners. This experience suggests he can be a valuable attacking asset in the Championship when fit and settled.

For West Ham, this signing would mark another significant move in their summer rebuilding process. The club has already signed Joel Veltman on a free transfer and Keiber Lamadrid's temporary move has been made permanent. The addition of Solomon would provide the team with an experienced option as they aim for promotion in the upcoming Championship season, which begins with a match against Burnley on August 16th.
