Receiver Carnell Tate leans on Calvin Ridley as Titans rookie learns new offense

Nashville, Tenn. — Tennessee wide receiver Carnell Tate is learning the Titans' new offense and picking up as much knowledge as possible from veteran Calvin Ridley. The No. 4 pick in April's NFL draft out of Ohio State can often be found kneeling or standing next to Ridley during practice. Tate admires Ridley, describing him as an elite receiver with elite moves.

Ridley, now 31, rejoined the Titans in March after restructuring his deal, having had a rough 2025 season due to injuries. Tate is Tennessee's future and a key target for the preseason opener against San Francisco. The Titans drafted Tate to address their obvious need for a skilled wide receiver, aiming to improve their passing game and bolster their roster.

With the investment in wide receivers, quarterback Cam Ward should benefit greatly from Tate's arrival, as Tennessee ranked last in the NFL in passing yards last season.
