Prabowo Faces 35% Public Dissatisfaction, IPO Survey Finds

According to a recent Indonesia Political Opinion (IPO) survey, public dissatisfaction with President Prabowo Subianto's performance stands at 35 percent. Despite this, the majority of respondents - 57 percent - still view his work positively, with an additional 6 percent expressing they were very satisfied, resulting in an overall satisfaction rate of 63 percent.

IPO Executive Director Dedi Kurnia Syah noted that these satisfaction levels suggest the public perceives the government's efforts as heading in the right direction.

The survey identified several factors influencing public perception. The MBG (free nutritious meal project) topped the list, cited by 15.7 percent of respondents. Other significant factors include the Head of State's staunch anti-corruption stance (12.5 percent), social assistance programs (11 percent), tangible benefits from government initiatives (7.2 percent), and Prabowo's leadership style - described as firm and impartial by 5.8 percent of respondents.

Capability in crisis management was noted by 4 percent, improvement in economic conditions by 3.8 percent, and genuine concern for the people by 3.5 percent.

While satisfaction remains high, the IPO cautioned the government to address sectors drawing public criticism. Consistent implementation of priority programs, enhanced governance, and improved public service quality are seen as key to maintaining and boosting public trust. The survey, conducted from July 27 to August 3, 2026, polled 1,200 respondents using a multistage random sampling method, boasting a 95 percent confidence level with a margin of error of approximately 2.9 percent.
