Police arrest two burglary suspects, recover household items in Yobe

Operatives from the Yobe State Police Command apprehended two individuals on August 7 in connection with a burglary and theft incident at the Red Bricks Housing Estate in Damaturu, the state capital. According to SP Dungus Abdulkarim, the Police Public Relations Officer, the suspects, Abubakar Abdullahi, 27, and Ayuba, 23, were taken into custody by officers of B Division in Damaturu following a report made by a complainant.

The divisional police team initiated an intelligence-driven investigation upon receiving the report, which culminated in the arrest of the two suspects. Both suspects, who share the same address in Damaturu, confessed to the crime during interrogation. Items seized from them comprise a 50-inch Samsung Galaxy Smart TV, three sets of bedsheets, and a large carpet.

These items have been recorded and stored in the police exhibit room, and the complainant has verified their ownership. The suspects are currently held in custody as authorities investigate whether additional accomplices may have been involved in the crime. The police have urged residents to stay alert and report any suspicious activities to the authorities, emphasizing that prompt information is essential for maintaining public safety.
