Police arrest five Pakistanis with 35 mobile phones in Benue

The Osun State Police Command has announced the arrest of two individuals in connection with a shooting incident that took place during a political procession in Ilesa, Osun State. The suspects, Mayowa Anjorin, Commissioner for Environment, and Odeyemi Abimbola, were apprehended following a pursuit by the public after they allegedly fled the scene.

The shooting occurred when armed men, dressed as members of the Osun State Security Network Agency, opened fire on a political procession. Three people were injured during the incident and taken to the hospital for treatment. The police are investigating the incident, including allegations that Hon. Mayowa Anjorin and Odeyemi Abimbola were involved.

They have also recovered several items from the scene, including firearms and a cap associated with the Amotekun security group. The police have assured the public that the investigation will be conducted professionally and transparently, without any political bias. The incident has sparked a reaction from the Accord, a political group, accusing security agencies of targeting its members in politically motivated arrests.

The Accord claims that over 60 of its members have been arrested across Osun, particularly in Ijesaland, in recent days. They have called for the immediate intervention of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Olatunji Disu, and urged the Nigeria Police Force to remain impartial.
