Pemeriksaan Avsec lebih tumpu senjata banding dadah, kata Saifuddin

He mentioned that X-ray machines are already in place at airports and function well, capable of detecting dangerous items and other matters, according to Bernama. However, he added that the ministry will refine the scope of checks to enable the detection of prohibited items, including drugs being smuggled. "The focus of the inspection scope is currently more on the weapons element as opposed to contraband.

This is among the aspects we will focus on according to the expertise of the inspecting officials," he said. Nonetheless, Saifuddin stressed that the bag search aspect complies with ICAO international airport security standards. In this regard, he said relevant agencies under the Domestic Affairs Ministry (KDN) will hold a special meeting tomorrow to investigate the implementation of a comprehensive plan to improve control at Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

The issue of airport security control has garnered attention following several incidents involving Malaysian citizens, including the arrest of a passenger at Jakarta airport last week suspected of smuggling around 25kg of drugs.
