Niemann wins as Rahm secures LIV season title

Joaquin Niemann secured victory in the LIV Golf New York event on Sunday, claiming his ninth win of the season and extending his lead over the competition. The Chilean golfer posted a two-under 69, finishing on 16-under par after 72 holes at Trump National Bedminster in New Jersey. American Harold Varner III finished three strokes behind in second place. Niemann expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "I feel like the more they push me, the better golfer I'm going to become from every experience."

Meanwhile, Jon Rahm secured his third consecutive LIV season title, despite finishing tied for 41st after closing with a 76. The Spaniard boasts an impressive 219-point lead over American Bryson DeChambeau heading into the final event of the season in Indianapolis. Despite not winning any events last year, Rahm clinched the season title with two wins from 12 rounds this year, including victories in Hong Kong and Mexico. He also has four runner-up finishes under his belt.

The LIV Golf season will conclude with the team championship in Michigan from August 27-30.
