Murree Road to Get New Lane Markings, Zebra Crossings

Commissioner Salman Ghani gave orders on Saturday for the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) to enhance the state of Murree Road and commence road marking and beautification initiatives as a matter of priority. The directives were handed down during a meeting at the RDA to evaluate the proposed enhancements along Murree Road and its key junctions.

RDA representatives updated the commissioner on the implementation schedule, which involves the installation of zebra crossings, lane markings, stone painting, and other aesthetic enhancements. The plan outlines the placement of zebra crossings and lane markings at critical intersections on both sides of Murree Road, with special emphasis on regions experiencing heavy vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

The proposed markings are intended to delineate traffic lanes clearly, guide drivers, enhance traffic compliance, and furnish safer crossing options for pedestrians. RDA will additionally execute stone painting and other aesthetic tasks at chosen points to elevate the visual appeal of the city's principal avenue. Ghani instructed officials to commence the work promptly, adhering to the Punjab chief minister's instructions, and to finish it within the designated timeframe.

He also mandated the concerned officers to maintain stringent coordination throughout the implementation process and ensure that the work adheres to the stipulated quality benchmarks.
