More GOP senators call for Miller to quit over abuse allegations

US Senator Jim Banks called for Representative Max Miller to resign over allegations of physically abusing his former wife and daughter, according to NBC’s Meet the Press. The allegations, which Miller has denied, are "deeply troubling," Banks stated. Four other Republican senators, including Miller's former father-in-law Bernie Moreno, have also urged Miller to step down.

Ohio's other senator Jon Husted, Montana Senator Tim Sheehy, and Kansas Senator Roger Marshall echoed this sentiment. No Republicans serving with Miller in the House have made similar calls. Banks suggested that Miller, who represents northeast Ohio, might lose a seat crucial for maintaining a majority in the House during the November midterms.

Miller, a Republican running for a third term, has refused to step aside and instead posted a video denying the allegations. The latest claims emerged from Miller's divorce from Emily Moreno, involving physical and emotional abuse of their toddler, as well as violent acts like throwing boiling water at his wife and others. Miller remains on the ballot in November, facing Democrat Brian Poindexter in the general election.
