Mir Raza Ali post-mortem reveals gunshot, multiple violence marks

New autopsy confirms Mir Ali Raza was fatally shot in the back and endured multiple injuries prior to his death, according to an eight-member medical board that performed a fresh post-mortem examination on his body. The board, headed by Police Surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed, discovered "injuries on the head and face" and "fractures on the nasal bone and skull" during the examination, which took place in the presence of a magistrate, Raza's family, and the investigating officer of the case.

Raza, a 25-year-old owner of the eatery Wafflix, had gone missing on July 28 and his body was found the next day with a gunshot wound near Shahi Qila Ground in Gulistan-i-Jauhar. While his family maintains he was kidnapped, tortured, and murdered, investigators argued the evidence pointed more towards a suicide. The family's lawyer, Advocate Jibran Nasir, claimed that Raza had been subjected to torture and demanded that the entire investigation team be replaced.

He pointed to wounds on Raza's forehead, fractured nose, and swelling and congealed blood around his lower jaw, consistent with being punched. Additionally, a congealed black substance was found in Raza's mouth and throat and is being tested to determine if he was forced to ingest something. The lawyer also criticized senior police officials, alleging they wanted to avoid investigating and instead humiliate the family.

Raza's father, Mir Hussain, expressed relief that the family's claims of murder had been proven true and questioned why the killers were not being brought to justice.
