Man performs ‘tantric ritual’ with Chhattisgarh chief justice's photo in effort to get bail for kin; held at crematorium

In Chhattisgarh's Bilaspur, a man named Rishikesh Kumar was caught performing a "tantric ritual" at a cremation ground in Devri village. The ritual involved the use of a photograph of the chief justice of Chhattisgarh High Court, according to police officials. Kumar was joined by three others in the alleged act and was apprehended after the villagers confronted them on suspicion of performing a suspicious ritual.

The three accomplices fled the scene, but Kumar was taken into custody by police. When questioned, Kumar claimed that his relative, Priyanshu Bole, was in police custody for a stabbing case. Police warned that strict action would be taken against anyone performing such rituals, as bail cannot be obtained through them. Kumar and his friends had reportedly watched a video of a "tantric" claiming that a ritual could help secure bail before visiting the cremation ground.

Police recovered various ritual materials from the spot, including photographs of Chhattisgarh HC chief justice Ramesh Sinha and Priyanshu Bole. Investigation into the incident is ongoing.
