Man arrested in North West Queensland after reports of shot fired at vehicle

Police have apprehended an individual in North West Queensland in connection with reports of a fired shot at a vehicle in Kynuna, according to authorities. At 7:50pm, emergency services were dispatched to the Landsborough Highway following a report of a bullet being discharged at an approaching car. Prior to the arrival of the police, a local resident discovered a stationary Toyota Hilux on the highway and a firearm.

The motorist collected the firearm and proceeded to meet the responding officers, who subsequently retrieved the weapon. Subsequently, officers encountered a 19-year-old man situated near the highway and took him into custody, where he is currently cooperating with the investigation. No one sustained physical injuries during the incident.

The proprietor of Blue Heeler Pub, Kynuna's sole establishment, who preferred anonymity, stated that the event transpired approximately 40 kilometers south of the town. Kynuna, home to a populace of slightly more than 50 individuals, is situated 300 kilometers south of Mount Isa. Police have extended an appeal to the public, requesting any pertinent information or dash cam footage to be forwarded to the authorities.
