Joaquin Niemann wins LIV-New York; Jon Rahm captures third-straight season title

Joaquin Niemann secured a three-shot victory in LIV Golf New York on Sunday, clinching his ninth career win in the last three years. Despite shooting a 76, Jon Rahm secured the season points title for the third consecutive time since joining LIV Golf. Niemann, who also won in South Korea earlier this year, finished at a remarkable 16-under 268.

Harold Varner III finished second, posting a 70. Niemann expressed his satisfaction with his performance, stating, "I feel like the more they push me, the better golfer I’m going to become from every experience than I experience." Bryson DeChambeau finished 38th, 23 shots behind the leader. Upon reflecting on his performance in the tournament, Rahm noted, "It’s been a great year.

Again, a little sour taste in my mouth because of how badly I played this week. But it’s been something to be proud of." The news comes just days after LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil announced the league's terms with a lead investor, enabling the organization to operate without Saudi Arabian funding. LIV Golf's next event is scheduled for Indiana in two weeks.
