Jharkhand government agrees to cancel 3 examinations as protest enters Day 16

The Jharkhand government has agreed to cancel three examinations, including the preliminary 14th JPSC Combined Civil Services examination, after 16 days of protests. This decision comes following six hours of talks between two delegations of student groups and the state government. The student groups demanded the cancellation of the exams, as well as an investigation into alleged financial irregularities related to the 14th JPSC exam.

The government also agreed to involve the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in probing financial irregularities and to establish fast-track courts for the speedy disposal of cases. However, the students remain firm on their demand for a CBI probe into the JSSC-CGL examination, which the government has not agreed to. Three members of the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) have resigned in response to the student movement, and the government has promised to deliver justice to the protesting youths through dialogue.
