It’s a knockout: Sport and family fun take centre stage across the Costa Blanca

Across the Costa Blanca, there is a surge of sporting activities taking center stage this year. From homemade racing machines and community fun runs to a new local football league, there is no shortage of entertainment for all ages.

The 14th annual AutosLocos in Petrer is set to occur on September 26. Teams can still register until September 4 through the Kaskaruja Association website. The event will see competitors and spectators from across the area gather around Leopoldo Pardines, Paseo de la Explanada, and Jardines Alcalde Vicente Maestre. Racing kicks off at 5:00 PM, with prize-giving starting at 8:00 PM and a free evening party following at 11:00 PM.

Meanwhile, the 41st Cross Popular San Roque will take place on August 14 in Monforte del Cid. Runners of all ages, both licensed athletes and fun runners, are invited to participate in the roughly 3.6-kilometre fully paved urban circuit. Registration is open until August 12, with limited spots available.

Finally, the first Campo La Nia Local 7-a-side Football League is set to begin in Aspe on September 19. Matches will take place on weekends, and teams must register a minimum of 12 players to ensure a full squad. The league fee is €60 per player, which includes trophies for the champions and runners-up, as well as individual awards for top scorer and best goalkeeper.
