Iraqi analyst: Prime minister aims to centralize arms after armed cell dismantled

Political analyst Wathiq Al-Jabiri commended Iraq's decision to dismantle an armed cell that had been plotting drone attacks, underscoring the government's dedication to upholding security. In an interview with Al Arabiya FM radio, Al-Jabiri stated that the operation exemplifies the Iraqi administration's resolve to ensure security and thwart attacks on neighboring nations.

He further explained that Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi's administration is dedicated to centralizing all arms under state control, a pursuit that has been ongoing for several months in collaboration with regional and international partners alarmed by the matter. Al-Jabiri pointed out that Iraq's formidable landscape, characterized by extensive desert regions, has compelled the government to dispatch security forces and carry out proactive operations and raids on suspected sites.

Prior to this, government spokesperson Haider Al-Aboudi announced that Iraqi counterterrorism units and intelligence agencies had effectively infiltrated and dismantled a network plotting drone attacks against specific objectives.
