Iranian Prez meets Supreme Leader Khamenei

In late July, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian convened with Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, as reported by state media. This meeting occurred at the beginning of Pezeshkian's third year in office. Pezeshkian has offered conflicting statements regarding his level of access to Khamenei, who has not been seen in public since succeeding his father in March.

Initially, Pezeshkian claimed interactions with the supreme leader were becoming more frequent, but later in August, he stated communication with Khamenei was challenging. The late July discussion encompassed military matters and economic issues, including securing resources, managing foreign exchange and energy consumption, and economic alliances with foreign partners, according to state media.

Furthermore, in May, state media disclosed that Pezeshkian had spent several hours with Khamenei, marking the first public recorded meeting between the two since Khamenei assumed the supreme leader role. The Basij Organisation's deputy Qasem Qoraishi revealed on Sunday that footage and documentation showcasing Khamenei in public settings, participating in events, and meeting with armed forces commanders would be unveiled in the future.

Qoraishi aimed to counter rumors about Khamenei's health and absence from public appearances by stating that the footage would disgrace the adversaries of the Iranian people.
