Indoor Football League playoffs: Green Bay Blizzard beat Tulsa Oilers in OT to reach IFL championship game

In a thrilling overtime victory, the Green Bay Blizzard defeated the Tulsa Oilers 67-60 to secure their spot in the Indoor Football League (IFL) championship game. Liam Thompson was the star of the match, throwing seven touchdown passes, including the game-winning score in overtime. The decisive play came late in the fourth quarter when Andrew Mevis hit a field goal that appeared to hit the crossbar before deflecting into the uprights.

This victory marks the Blizzard's second consecutive Eastern Conference championship. In the previous year's championship game, the Blizzard lost to the Vegas Knight Hawks. Tulsa Oilers quarterback TJ Edwards II had a strong performance, throwing for four touchdowns and rushing for two more. With just 1:01 remaining, the Oilers took a 60-57 lead thanks to Caleb Ramseur's second rushing touchdown of the game.

However, the Blizzard displayed remarkable composure, effectively managing the clock and ultimately earning the tie-breaking field goal from Mevis in overtime. Thompson's scrambling escape from a sack on fourth-and-goal led to his final touchdown to Isaac Ross. Traevon Alexander contributed significantly with seven receptions for 95 yards, including three of Thompson's touchdowns, while Draysean Hudson added two more touchdowns through catches.
