India, U.S. navies to hold EOD exercise in Kochi from August 10

The Indian Navy and the U.S. Navy will conduct the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Exercise 2026 in Kochi from August 10 to 14. This bilateral exercise aims to improve the two navies' ability to work together by enhancing interoperability and strengthening professional cooperation. The training focuses on collaborative learning, operational synergy, and mutual understanding, allowing personnel to refine procedures and respond effectively to complex challenges.

Since 2005, the Indian Navy and U.S. Navy have held joint salvage and EOD exercises, with this event marking the eighth edition of the specialized bilateral training exercise. The exercise highlights both navies' commitment to enhancing interoperability, sharing operational expertise, and strengthening cooperation in specialized maritime operations.
