Ho Chi Minh City businesses seek more skilled workers

The labor market in Ho Chi Minh City continues to exhibit positive growth in the first half of 2026, with businesses adding over 123,000 new positions. According to a report from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Home Affairs, the market is maintaining steady production, business activity, and investment levels. Despite this robust recruitment demand, which accounts for 68.55 percent of the annual goal, companies are increasingly seeking employees with specialized skills.

Key sectors driving this demand include manufacturing, electronics, mechanical engineering, logistics, trade, services, information technology, and other high-quality service industries.

However, businesses are encountering challenges in hiring workers with technical expertise, professional qualifications, industrial discipline, and the capability to adapt to digital transformation and automation. In response to this issue, the Ho Chi Minh City Employment Service Center and the Youth Employment Service Center collaborated on organizing 145 job fairs. These events aimed to facilitate better connections between the available labor supply and the specific recruitment needs of local businesses.
