The statement came during a press conference at the national headquarters of the People's Party (PP), led by Party Secretary General Miguel Tellado.

Genova responded by referring to the explanations provided by the Community Government. The press conference ended shortly after, and just an hour later, the Ayuso cabinet announced a dramatic turn in the story, suggesting that the apartment would be sold and the proceeds would be used to aid those affected by wildfires. Tellado had initially seemed poised to address the controversy, but he retreated quickly and appeared to distance himself from the issue almost immediately after the press conference.

Ten days later, the official position of the Alberto Núñez Feijóo team remained unchanged: they continued to refer to Genova's words while acknowledging the growing concerns due to new, compromising information. According to a national parliamentary speaker, there was a sense of unnecessary discomfort and additional complications in the situation.
