Formal PH-BN negotiations yet to begin, says PKR's Adam Adli

Melaka: Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) have not initiated formal negotiations for the upcoming state election, according to PKR's chief Adam Adli Abdul Halim. Informal discussions, however, are taking place between representatives of both coalitions. No formal negotiations are currently underway at the state level.

Adam emphasized that the political dynamics in Melaka differ from those in other states that have held elections. He stated that the PH would consider various factors, including its experience in the state government, before deciding its next course of action. The coalition previously governed the state for three years before stepping down following the withdrawal of its assemblymen over a constitutional amendment.

DAP representatives exited the administration first, followed by the coalition's departure from the BN-led government. Adam clarified that the differences were not substantial, but three years of administrative experience under the BN had an impact on the community, particularly in maintaining peace and stability. He also mentioned that the DAP's withdrawal from the state administration might influence BN talks, with each party weighing different factors in the negotiations.

Adam concluded by noting that PH assemblymen were concentrating on fulfilling their remaining duties before seeking a fresh mandate.
