Eduardo Rodriguez strikes out 9 and Diamondbacks beat struggling Dodgers 4-2

Eduardo Rodriguez struck out nine Diamondbacks in seven innings, leading the Arizona team to a 4-2 victory over the struggling Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday. This marked the Diamondbacks' first season series win over the Dodgers since 2018.

Rodriguez's strong performance came after the Dodgers snapped a seven-game losing streak with a 2-1 win in the previous game. Leading the NL West, the Dodgers had lost three consecutive series for the first time since late August.

Ketel Marte opened the scoring for the Dodgers with a two-run homer off Arizona's Justin Wrobleski in the first inning, bringing his RBI total to over 600 for the season. The Dodgers narrowed the gap to 4-2 in the bottom of the sixth inning when Kevin Ginkel recorded his first save of the year with a perfect ninth inning.

However, Rodriguez had to work through a couple of Dodgers hits, allowing Andy Pages' run-scoring single in the third inning and Kyle Tucker's RBI triple in the sixth. Despite the Dodgers' early momentum, Rodriguez's dominant performance in the second half sealed the win for Arizona.
