Dubai bridge cuts Al Qudra intersection wait by 85%

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) recently opened a new four-lane bridge at the intersection of Al Qudra Road and Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street, significantly reducing travel times and congestion for motorists along the busy route. The 700-metre bridge, capable of handling up to 6,000 vehicles per hour, is part of a larger project aimed at improving traffic flow and overall efficiency along the upgraded Al Qudra Road corridor.

The intersection upgrade has increased traffic capacity from 7,800 to 19,400 vehicles per hour and cut waiting time by an impressive 85%, from nearly seven minutes to just one minute. The project, known as the Al Qudra Road Development Project, is part of Dubai's broader strategy to enhance key transport corridors, improve connectivity, and boost the efficiency of the road network.

It also includes the construction of additional ramp bridges and three kilometres of service roads, further enhancing the overall connectivity and flow of traffic in the area. With over 400,000 residents and visitors benefiting from the project, Dubai's authorities are committed to creating a more seamless and efficient transportation experience for the city's growing population.
