Crime blotter: Thieves try using stolen credit cards at a Miami Apple Store

Two men attempted to steal credit cards from an unlocked vehicle in South Miami and unsuccessfully tried using them at the Apple Store and a liquor store, as reported by CBS Miami. In the Nancy Guthrie kidnapping case, a ransom note mentioned a white Apple Watch found in the victim's bedroom, according to a Senate committee. Dr. Anthony Fauci's iPhone was transferred to the Senate committee after he retired from the Department of Health and Human Services in 2022.

A Detroit man was arrested in Minnesota for using a fake Instacart order to steal iPads from a Target store. Three teenagers from Omaha were accused of stealing 17 iPads from a Target store, along with engaging in counterfeit currency exchange and theft from a Nike store. A Philadelphia woman's stolen Honda Accord was misidentified by police due to VIN-swapping, while a man was arrested in Laredo, Texas for stealing an iPhone during a party and later crashing into a truck.

A Carroll, Iowa man was charged with stalking after placing an AirTag on a woman's car who had obtained a no-contact order against him. In Nashville, a man's stolen car was recovered because his iPhone was left behind, allowing police to track the vehicle.
