CIBN recommits to partnerships for economic growth

Dele Alabi, President of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), has reiterated the organization's dedication to forming strategic alliances that will spur financial industry innovation, enhance professional standards, and stimulate economic progress. During a high-level visit to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Alabi emphasized the institute's IMPACT Vision, a strategy focused on fostering collaboration with key stakeholders who influence Nigeria's banking and financial services landscape.

The CIBN president lauded Sanwo-Olu's visionary leadership and the governor's developmental initiatives, noting that Lagos State continues to offer a conducive atmosphere for financial services, innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic expansion. Discussions took place on prospective joint initiatives to bolster Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), including capacity building, financial inclusion, and improved access to finance.

Alabi also announced plans to convert the institute's Learning Centre into a state-of-the-art Digital Learning Resource Centre and Innovation Hub, which will include modern digital learning facilities, simulation labs, virtual classrooms, and collaborative innovation areas to serve banking professionals, fintech firms, researchers, academics, and technology partners.

This aligns with the institute's Technology, Automation, and Innovation pillar. Sanwo-Olu expressed appreciation for the warm welcome and the delegation's positive outlook on the institute's vision, highlighting the importance of strong partnerships between the state and the banking sector in sustaining economic growth.
