Bersatu to take PN membership dispute to RoS

Two days ago, PAS accused Bersatu of forfeiting its position as a component party within Perikatan Nasional (PN). PAS argued that under PN's constitution, Bersatu would automatically lose its membership if it decided to form another alliance. Meanwhile, Bersatu's information chief, Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz, contended that PAS had repeatedly violated PN's constitution and its Supreme Council decisions, including stripping Bersatu of its rights as a component party.

This situation demands immediate attention to the Registrar of Societies (RoS) to halt such actions, according to Tun Faisal. PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang was claimed to hold ultimate control over PN, with coalition chairman Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, a PAS vice-president, being merely a puppet leader. Hadi further alleged that PN was not governed with fairness, transparency, and integrity as per the constitution.

PAS president Hadi controversially stated that Bersatu was no longer a part of PN, citing Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin's earlier claim about forming a new coalition post the Negeri Sembilan state election. However, Bersatu secretary-general Azmin Ali disputed Hadi's claim by asserting there is no provision in PN's constitution for automatically expelling a party from its membership.
