Artificial Intelligence Centre explores future of aviation

The Digital Artificial Intelligence Centre at Qatar Museums (QM) is hosting an interactive workshop titled "The Future of Navigation: Drones, Robots, and Digital Exploration" from August 12-13. The event targets young individuals aged 13-17 and is part of a programme aimed at introducing them to contemporary technologies and their practical applications.

The workshop, which spans from 10am to 1pm, offers an educational experience that merges theory with hands-on practice. It invites participants to engage with the technologies that are shaping modern navigation through several interactive activities.

The participants will have the opportunity to experience drone simulation, LiDAR (light detection and ranging) mapping using Emesent Hovermap, and observe autonomous robot demonstrations using the ANYmal D. This will allow them to understand the process of piloting virtual multirotor and fixed-wing drones, creating 3D scans, and seeing how robots navigate complex environments.

The workshop will introduce a variety of technologies that are poised to shape the future of navigation and exploration, with a specific focus on drones, 3D scanning technologies, and autonomous robots. It will feature live demonstrations of autonomous robots, enabling participants to learn about how these robots navigate and maneuver through complex environments.
