Armed Men Rob Youths After Attacking Them On Indore-Dewas Bypass

Indore, Madhya Pradesh - In a harrowing incident that unfolded during a late-night drive on Saturday morning, a group of youths found themselves victims of armed attackers on the Indore-Dewas Bypass. The attack occurred around 3:30 am near the Sullakhedi Bridge, under the jurisdiction of the Kshipra Police Station. Vinod Raghuvanshi, a 27-year-old resident of Palakhedi Kakad, was among the group who had borrowed an SUV from a neighbor to attend a party with friends Deepak, Lokesh, and another companion.

While stopped at the bridge to record social media videos, the vehicle was confronted by five unidentified men who proceeded to assault the group using iron rods, sticks, and knives. Deepak was injured when an iron rod struck his leg, and the attackers threatened the group with their weapons, forcing the youths to flee and abandon the car, leaving their keys inside.

The assailants then stole Deepak and Lokesh's mobile phones and fled the scene in the SUV. The victims managed to seek help from a passing auto-rickshaw driver, who took Deepak to MY Hospital for medical treatment. The police registered a case against the suspects under various sections of the Bombay Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and the Indian Penal Code for dacoity, assault, and criminal intimidation.

While the stolen car was later recovered near Mohan Barodiya in Shajapur district, the perpetrators have yet to be apprehended. The Kshipra Police Station's in-charge, Kailash Solanki, revealed that multiple police teams are actively investigating the incident to locate the suspects involved in the highway robbery. Meanwhile, Indore Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav took to social media to encourage citizens to observe a 'No Car Day' every Friday, urging them to contribute to a cleaner and more sustainable environment.
