APC completes upload of all candidates ahead of INEC deadline

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has successfully uploaded its candidates for the 2027 general elections ahead of the deadline set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). National Chairman Prof Nentawe Yilwatda announced the achievement on Sunday, emphasizing the party's organizational capabilities and preparedness for the upcoming polls.

The deadline, initially set for August 8, 2026, was later extended to August 11, 2026, following appeals from parties still finalizing their submissions. Yilwatda highlighted that the APC had submitted candidates for all elective positions, from State Houses of Assembly to the presidential contest, demonstrating the party's readiness to govern Nigeria.

The successful completion of the candidate-upload process was a testament to the party's organizational capacity, internal systems, and disciplined approach to electoral politics. Yilwatda urged Nigerians to consider factors beyond campaign promises when choosing their representatives, urging them to evaluate the internal organization, adherence to electoral regulations, and capability of political parties in managing their resources effectively.

The 2027 general elections are expected to be highly competitive, with opposition parties vying to challenge the APC at various electoral levels. With the candidate-upload exercise completed ahead of schedule, the APC now shifts its focus to further preparations, including campaign coordination, grassroots mobilization, and policy communication.
