Well-known Israeli singer arrested on domestic violence charges, name not yet released

A prominent Israeli musician was apprehended on Saturday on charges of domestic violence, the identity of the individual remains undisclosed. The singer, who had recently gained public recognition, was led to the Rishon Lezion police station for interrogation under caution and is anticipated to provide his version of the events.

According to the police, the incident transpired within the framework of the singer's relationship. The singer's partner alleged that he had been aggressive towards her, threatened her, and shattered windows. A source acquainted with the situation disclosed to Walla that the investigation is presently concentrated on suspected domestic violence.

Following the singer's account, authorities will evaluate whether to release him immediately at the station or detain him until tomorrow for an extension of his detention. The questioning occurred under caution. Depending on his testimony and any further developments in the investigation, law enforcement will determine whether to release him on conditions after the questioning or request the Rishon Lezion Magistrate's Court on Sunday to prolong his detention.

This arrest comes in the wake of another legal issue involving a musician on August 2, when Israel Police Commissioner Inspector-General Danny Levy suspended musician and right-wing activist Yoav Eliasi from his command of a Tel Aviv District rapid response squad. Eliasi, informally known as "The Shadow," is believed to be an associate and supporter of National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir.

He is under suspicion for utilizing his law enforcement connections to prevent the closure of an entertainment venue he is involved in, which police ordered to be closed following a violent incident.
