Stalker 2 is finally letting us explore the Chornobyl Power Plant

GSC Game World has unveiled a new deep dive video showcasing the upcoming Stalker 2 DLC, Cost of Hope. The video provides an early glimpse at areas of the Zone previously unexplored by stalkers: Iron Forest and the Chornobyl Power Plant. The expansion is expected to offer dozens of hours of content, alongside new weapons, gear, hubs, quests, and uncharted locations.

Players will be able to play as Skif through events that coincide with the main storyline of Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl. Notifications will be sent to the player's PDA as the story progresses. Cost of Hope is the first story expansion for Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, set to release on August 20th for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.

The DLC is the first story expansion for the game, following its announcement at an Xbox Partner Showcase in March. The development of Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl was revealed to be influenced by a significant payment from Microsoft to keep the initially planned open-world shooter exclusive to Xbox.
