Rufián calls Puigdemont “ridiculous” in claiming credit for his escape from Barcelona

Bittersweet anniversary for Carles Puigdemont, the day he has chosen to claim that two years have passed since his brief appearance in the center of Barcelona, and subsequent escape from the police operation that the Mossos d'Esquadra had set up to arrest him. The former Catalan president has stated that he remains free, residing outside of Spain, and that that maneuver served to "expose" the Supreme Court and its will to block the amnesty.

"Ridiculous" and "frivolous", Gabriel Rufián, ERC spokesman in the Congress of Deputies, has accused him, a qualification that has given rise to a crossfire of declarations between factions of the independence movement. The acrimony between Junts and ERC continues to rise at the same speed as the improving vote expectations of the far-right independentist movement represented by Aliança Catalana.
