Red Sox Announce Start of Adley Rutschman's Rehab Assignment

On Friday, Boston Red Sox interim manager Chad Tracy unveiled plans to initiate Adley Rutschman's rehabilitation assignment for his left wrist injury. The newcomer, acquired from the Baltimore Orioles just a day earlier, is scheduled to resume his professional career with Triple-A Worcester on Saturday. Rutschman is anticipated to face five innings in his first outing since returning from his last game on July 18.

The team promptly shared the news on social media, expressing anticipation for the three-time All-Star to step back into the game. The plan includes at least two at-bats in his first match since the late July lull. It's evident that the Red Sox are not banking on Rutschman's presence to immediately contribute to their lineup, as their offensive output has been impressive, registering six runs per game over a 18-3 stretch since July 17.

Rutschman's offensive capabilities have been notable this season, despite the uncertainties surrounding his health. Currently, he is showing a commendable batting average of .251, with a higher-than-average on-base percentage of .331 and an on-base-plus-slugging (OPS) of 433.
