Police seek owner, motive behind pink suitcase left at Bukit Kayu Hitam ICQS after explosive scare

Alor Setar, Aug 8 — Police have launched an inquiry to ascertain the owner and the motive behind a suitcase found at the Bukit Kayu Hitam Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security Complex (ICQS) inspection area following an explosive scare. Kedah Police chief Datuk Adzli Abu Shah stated that the investigation aimed to identify the individual who left the suitcase, noting that its location was outside the range of CCTV surveillance, posing a challenge for police to identify the person responsible.

A spokesperson for the police reported to reporters today that they were examining the owner of the suitcase and the reason for its placement at the specified location.

Yesterday, police had taken necessary measures to disable a pink suitcase discovered at the ICQS inspection area. The suitcase was subsequently transported to a scanning device, where it revealed images that raised suspicion of the presence of drugs and explosive substances. The Bomb Disposal Unit of Kedah Police Contingent Headquarters, which handled the neutralisation process, discovered no actual explosives but instead found clothes, oil in a container, a black hairdryer, shampoo, and lotion.
