Packers season is in the air as Family Night brings fans together

Packers Family Night returned to Lambeau Field for its 25th anniversary on Friday, August 7, allowing fans to watch the team practice inside the stadium. Prior to the 7:30 p.m. practice, Family Fest took place across the Titletown District from 3-6:30 p.m. Families and fans gathered for yard games, face painting, food trucks, and drink tents. Some families even tailgated, grilling dinner before the practice.

Lambeau Field was filled with green and Packers jerseys as families explored the grounds. Julie Butschli brought her son, Tom White, for the second consecutive year. "We just carry on the Packer tradition," Butschli said, honoring her deceased father and brother. White, now living in Green Bay, described Family Night as the first kickoff to the Packers season, offering fans a chance to experience the stadium and its tradition.

Fans traveled from far and wide to participate in Family Night. Marcus Allen drove three and a half hours from Chicago with his family for the third consecutive year. Allen noted that Family Night provides an opportunity to be part of the Packer environment and spend more money on gear rather than just seats. Tickets, including fees and tax, cost $12.42 each.

People started arriving at the stadium around 5:30 p.m. to find their seats before the practice. Kathryn Byrnes, a reporter for the Green Bay Press-Gazette, covered the event.
