Jorge Messi, father of renowned footballer Lionel Messi, passed away at the age of 68 on Friday night at a medical clinic in Rosario, Argentina, after enduring a prolonged illness. The family revealed that Jorge had spent his final months alternating between a medical center and his residence, supported by his wife Celia and their children Rodrigo, Matias, and Maria Sol.

Lionel Messi, 39, visited his father following the World Cup in North America before resuming his duties with Inter Miami, where he made a successful return to action a week later.

Jorge played a crucial role in Lionel's football career from their early days at Barcelona, often serving as his representative and providing unwavering support throughout his professional journey.
