Jharkhand protest: CID summons three serving members of JPSC in exam row

The Jharkhand State Crime Investigation Department (CID) has issued summonses to three serving members of the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) in connection with an investigation into alleged irregularities in competitive exams for government recruitments in the state. The summonses were issued to Ajita Bhattacharya, Anima Hansda, and Jamal Ahmed, with their respective appearances requested on August 10, 12, and 14.

The CID is probing the reasons behind the company TSR Data Processing Private Limited (TDPL), which had been previously blacklisted for irregularities, being empanelled to conduct the JPSC exams. The CID is also seeking information on the signatures of the three JPSC members, as their signatures were not obtained before releasing the PT exam results.

The investigation is focusing on the monitoring, administrative functioning, and data security of the JPSC, with the former JPSC chairman L Khyiangte having been questioned multiple times. Several TDPL employees and JPSC officials have been arrested in connection with the case, and the CID hopes that new information will emerge from the interrogations of the serving JPSC members.
