Jadeja’s Kuldeep imitation leaves Gambhir in splits - Watch

On the second day of the warm-up match against Sri Lanka Cricket XI, India's Gautam Gambhir's protege Gurnoor Brar showcased his batting prowess as he smashed four sixes in the final over of the day. The left-handed batsman, who had been contributing with the bat throughout the innings, arrived at the crease in the 90th over with India already amassed 332 runs for eight wickets.

With Devdutt Padikkal having been unbeaten on 141, Brar took the strike and proceeded to hit two sixes off the first two deliveries. Refusing a single off the fourth ball, he then followed it up with two more boundaries off the fifth and sixth balls of the over. This spectacular display propelled India past the 350-run mark, ending the day on 357 for eight runs.

Brar's performance was met with clapping and smiles from India's head coach Gautam Gambhir, who also gave the young fast bowler a standing ovation. Brar, who has played six ODIs for India since his debut against Afghanistan in June 2026, had been a valuable contributor with the bat, adding 51 runs in partnership with Padikkal, who remained unbeaten on 142.

Ravindra Jadeja and Manav Suthar also made significant contributions with the bat, scoring 63 and 41 respectively. However, Rishabh Pant and Dhruv Jurel were unable to capitalize on the batting conditions. By the end of the second day, India had scored 357 for eight runs, six runs shy of Sri Lanka Cricket XI's first innings total.
