According to The Telegraph, this individual was reportedly promoted while her affair with Infantino persisted, eventually leaving UEFA with a hefty payout. Furthermore, the report claims UEFA funded an MBA course for the ex-employee, with annual fees estimated at around £45,000.

UEFA has acknowledged the payment and MBA funding, yet maintains these were authorized under the regulations at the time. The organization also notes that such rules have since been revised to align with the expectations of a contemporary, high-ranking organization. Infantino, who served as UEFA's general secretary and later became FIFA president in 2016, categorically denies any wrongdoing.

A FIFA spokesperson dismissed any claims of improper behavior or regulatory violations, stating they are "categorically untrue." The Telegraph's investigation suggests that Michel Platini, a former UEFA president, was aware of the relationship and confronted Infantino, requesting either his departure or the woman's resignation. Sources cited by the publication assert that the woman subsequently left UEFA with the pay-off and later found employment in the football industry.

These allegations arrive at a challenging period for Infantino, whose tenure at FIFA has been criticized due to the collapse of a financing proposal with external investors.
