Dusty weather on Saturday, face masks advised: Egyptian Meteorological Authority

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) has issued a weather warning for Saturday, predicting hot and humid conditions across the country. Strong winds will carry sand and dust in certain regions, while high waves are expected along some coasts. Morning temperatures will be slightly warm and humid, but they will intensify into very hot and humid weather throughout the day, particularly along the northern coasts. Nighttime conditions will be slightly warmer than usual.

Satellite data indicates intermittent wind activity, with wind speeds ranging between 30 and 40 kilometers per hour. These winds may generate cooler temperatures in open areas. However, they may also stir up dust and sand in southern Upper Egypt, the New Valley, and certain areas of the Red Sea Governorate, making it necessary for individuals with respiratory conditions to wear face masks.

The EMA reported wind activity on several beaches, including Matrouh, El Alamein, Alexandria, Baltim, Gamasa, Damietta, Port Said, and Arish. Wave heights will range from 1.5 to 2.25 meters. There is a slight possibility of low cloud formation and light drizzle in some northern areas, Greater Cairo, and Suez Canal cities.

Maximum temperatures are forecasted to reach 36°C in Greater Cairo, 32°C along the northwest coast, 38°C in northern Upper Egypt, and up to 41°C in southern Upper Egypt. The public is advised to adhere to weather forecasts and take appropriate precautions, especially during early morning hours and while traveling on highways.
