Bucks’ Tyler Herro not worrying about contract status as he begins new chapter with hometown team

Milwaukee Bucks guard Tyler Herro has no concerns about his contract situation as he embarks on a new chapter with his hometown team. The 26-year-old Milwaukee native, who graduated from Whitnall High School, joined the Bucks in a trade that sent Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Miami Heat. Herro, whose future had been a topic of speculation since the June trade announcement, clarified during a youth basketball camp that he isn't preoccupied with contract matters.

He emphasized that this is a "new slate" for the coaches and the organization as a whole. Herro, who has one year left on his contract, expressed his eagerness to contribute to a team in transition following a 32-50 season. He joined a roster already heavy on the backcourt, having been drafted by the Bucks in this summer's draft.

Herro, who has averaged over 20 points in the last five seasons, is excited to bounce back from the limited playing time due to injuries in the 2025-26 season.
