BJP leader says Cong. MLA of Sagara enquired about returning to BJP after being denied Cabinet berth

Former BJP leader Haratal Halappa disclosed that Belur Gopal Krishna, an MLA from Sagara, had reached out to a senior party member in an attempt to return to the BJP on the day he was denied a Cabinet position. At a protest meeting in Sagar, Mr. Halappa alleged that Mr. Krishna had inquired about the possibility of rejoining the BJP after being criticized for his remarks on former Chief Minister B.S.

The BJP leader emphasized that Mr. Krishna had disparaged the Yediyurappa family in unkind terms, and that it was beneficial for him to remain affiliated with the Congress party. Halappa stated that he was familiar with the individual Mr. Krishna had contacted and the timing of his inquiry. He expressed readiness to provide further details if his claims were disputed.

The former Minister attributed the denial of the Cabinet berth to Krishna's harsh criticisms, adding that the MLA had not shown the basic courtesy of meeting KPCC president B.K. Hariprasad during a private program when Hariprasad visited Sagar. Krishna had initially been elected to the Assembly on a BJP ticket.
