Abascal proposes that Congress impeach Sánchez for treason

For a long time, Vox leader Santiago Abascal has been saying that Pedro Sánchez must end up sitting in the dock and on several occasions he has tried to do so by filing successive complaints with the Supreme Court, none of which have been admitted for processing. Now he intends to open a new avenue: for Congress itself to push for a criminal prosecution against the president.

It's a practice that has become common in Latin America, where numerous heads of state have ended up behind bars when they have lost their parliamentary majority. But in Spain it is unprecedented, although it is enshrined in the Constitution.
