Why I left City Boy Movement — Ex-Oyo coordinator

Ahmed Ajibola, the former Oyo State Coordinator of the City Boy Movement, has disclosed his decision to leave the group due to his disagreement with its direction and leadership. Ajibola, also known as General H, made this announcement on Instagram following rumors circulating on social media that he had been removed from his position and made negative comments about President Bola Tinubu and other leaders.

Ajibola clarified that these reports were false and that he had voluntarily resigned. He had been appointed Coordinator, Directorate Affairs at the state level on August 1, 2026, and later received another appointment as Coordinator, Stakeholder Engagement, South-West Structure on August 5, 2026. He declined both positions before submitting his resignation.

In his resignation letter, Ajibola expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve but stated that he could no longer continue with the movement in good conscience due to the direction taken by the Oyo State leadership. He believed that leadership should be based on fairness, loyalty, transparency, competence, and mutual respect, and the actions and decisions within the Oyo State structure had led him to this conclusion.

Ajibola emphasized that his resignation was not a rejection of President Tinubu or his administration, as he remains committed to promoting the achievements of the administration and supporting Tinubu's re-election bid in 2027. He also denied making derogatory statements against any members of the movement's national leadership and urged the public to disregard the false allegations surrounding his resignation.

Ajibola expressed his gratitude to the members of the City Boy Movement for their loyalty, commitment, and sacrifice, stating that he remained proud of their accomplishments together.
