War on Iran: Saudi Arabia warns of imminent attacks by Iraqi groups and Yemen's Houthis

Saudi Arabia has issued a stern warning, anticipating imminent attacks from Iraqi armed groups and Yemen's Houthis, all potentially under the guidance of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. A confidential source within the kingdom disclosed to Reuters that intelligence reports suggest a possibility of targeting civilian and economic sites, including energy infrastructure, ports, and airports.

Reports indicate the movement of drones and missiles, hinting at preparations for such attacks from both Iraq and Yemen. Saudi Arabia has vowed to respond to any aggression that might befall its territory. The warning arrives amidst growing tensions due to the ongoing Israeli-US war on Iran, which initiated on February 28. Earlier strikes by Saudi and US forces on Iranian-backed groups in Iraq resulted in the deaths of over 20 people and injuries to at least 30.

Iraqi armed groups have vowed retaliation, but Hadi al-Amiri, the leader of the Badr Organisation, has urged them to delay their response, criticizing the situation as "American-Saudi" aggression. The Saudi warning also comes after the Houthis launched attacks on Saudi military and infrastructure targets, including the killing of at least 17 government soldiers and disrupting oil exports through their blockade in the Red Sea.

Saudi Arabia, along with Turkey and Pakistan, is expected to sign a joint defense agreement in Mecca on Friday, as Middle East Eye reports, though neither the Houthis nor Iran have yet responded to the Saudi warning.
