T-Mobile Just Quietly Killed Its Better Value Phone Plan After Less Than a Year

T-Mobile recently discontinued its Better Value phone plan after only a year of launch. The company introduced the "Better Value" plan in January, which offered customers the ability to get a new device with zero down payment, including taxes. However, the plan was later removed from T-Mobile's website on Tuesday when the company launched its "2.0" plans.

According to a T-Mobile spokesperson, the Better Value plan was indeed a limited-time offer, but current customers on the plan would not experience any changes unless they decide to switch to a different plan like the Experience More 2.0 plan for improved financing options. The Better Value plan was comparable to the Experience More plan in terms of price ($140 for three lines) and included unlimited high-speed 5G data, five-year price guarantee, and 250GB of high-speed mobile hotspot data compared to 60GB on Experience More.

The plan also provided more generous high-speed data (30GB) and unlimited high-speed hotspot data (30GB) when traveling to Canada and Mexico, as well as T-Satellite service, which was an additional $10 add-on for Experience More. Additionally, Better Value required customers to sign up for three or more lines, with two being eligible numbers ported to the new plan, while existing T-Mobile customers had to have been on a T-Mobile postpaid plan for at least five years.
