Russia’s nationalist Rodina party demands anti-war Yabloko party be pulled from State Duma race

Russia's nationalist Rodina party has filed a lawsuit with the country's Supreme Court in an effort to remove the Yabloko party from the electoral ballot for the upcoming State Duma elections, according to Rodina leader and current State Duma deputy Alexey Zhuravlev, as reported by TASS. The Supreme Court's press service has confirmed that the lawsuit has been filed, and the Central Election Commission had registered Yabloko's candidate list on July 29 for the fall elections.

During the registration process, Rodina accused Yabloko of fielding candidates who had never visited the SOZ (State of War) zone. This led to criticism from other Russian political figures, including Sergey Mironov of A Just Russia and Leonid Slutsky of the LDPR, who called for Yabloko to be declared an "undesirable organization."

In contrast, Russia's opposition in exile urged voters to support Yabloko in the election.
